VMware - this host supports intel vt-x but intel vt-x is disabled 오류 해결 방법

VMware를 설치하고


새 가상 머신에 64bit 운영체제를 설치할 경우


설치를 위해 가상 머신이 기동하다가


곧 [this host supports intel vt-x but intel vt-x is disabled]라는 문구의 오류가 발생할 수 있습니다.

This virtual machine is configured for 64-bit guest operation systems.
However, 64-bit operation in not possible

This host supports Intel VT-x, but Intel VT-x is disabled

Intel VT-x might be disabled if it been disabled in the BIOS/firmware settings or the host has been power-cyclen since changing this setting.

(1) Verify that BIOS/firmware settings enable Intel VT-x and disable 'trusted execution'.

(2)Power-cycle the host if either of these BIOS/firmware settings have been changed.

(3)Power-cycle the host if you have not done so since installing VMware Workstation

(4)Update the host's BIOS/firmware to the lastest version.

오류 발생 원인는 설치될 가상 머신의 운영체제와 (guest) 가상 머신을 운영할 본 운영체제 (host) 사이의 하드웨어 자원을 사용할 우선 순위가 정해지지 않았기 때문입니다.

이 교통정리가 없다면 가상머신들 끼리나 본 운영체제 사이에 병목 현상이 발생해 모두 뻗어버리거나 올바르게 성능을 내지 못하게 되기 때문에 아예 실행 자체를 오류로 막아둔거죠.

그리고 고의로 막아둔 오류라서 해결 방법도 간단합니다.



본 컴퓨터를 재기동해 BIOS에 들어간 뒤 위와 같이 CPU설정에 있는 Intel Virtualizaion Technology 항목을 사용으로 바꾸면 되죠 ^^

내부 센드박스가 돌아가는 경우가 드물고 CPU 기능에 영향이 가는 옵션이라 기본 설정은 Diaabled로 되어 있는 거 같습니다.

설정을 바꾼 뒤 다시 설치를 진행하면


이렇게 잘 넘어가죠 ^^

만약에 바이오스에 가상화 기술 항목이 없는 CPU일 경우엔 안타깝게도 32bit OS를 설치하는거 말곤 다른 방법이 없습니다.
